Big Screen (giant TV screen)

Watch TV with projection.

A big screen TV set is usually the center of a home entertainment system. The popular direct view 32 and 36 inch screens use a large glass picture tube. Giant screens, the 50, 56, 60 inch and larger, use a set of three small picture tubes with lens and mirrors projecting to the rear of a large plastic screen. Things have changed. Big screen TVs have become a real mass-market preposition - making projection TV more of a 'fun experiment' in optics than a solution to big screen entertainment in the home.

If you want the large screen cinema experience and your room size will allow it, front projection is the way to go. Front projectors are made to produce screen images in the range of 70" to 120" diagonal or more. Once people realize they can get a picture up to four times the size for the same money as a good RPTV, it opens up a whole new world of entertainment possibilities.
